Sugar and sweets are excluded from the initial part of the diet, and are gradually added back into the plan. Sodium is restricted to 2.100 milligrams daily. Caffeine is allowed, as well as one alcoholic beverage three days a week. The diet is made up of approximately 50% -55% carbohydrates, 29%-25% fat, and 25%-30% protein. The major emphasis of the diet is moderation and portion control.

Health Factors of LA Diets

Counselors encourage dieters to purchase the company’s line of products which are fairly complete in their nutritional offerings. There are also vitamins, minerals and herbs available to help supplement the plan. The diet’s menu plans range from 1,200 calories to 2,400 calories and are divided into three distinct phases. Phase two is a six week stabilization period that clients advance to once their weight-loss goals have been met. Calories are increased and weekly visits are decreased. The last phase is maintenance in which clients check in once a week and remain on the program for at least a year to maintain their current weight. Exercise is strongly encouraged, but there are no individualized plans. The diet is overall healthy with portion controlled meals consisting of more fruits and vegetables. It also decreases the amount of fat, sugar and salt which is consistent with most nutritional guidelines.

The costs for the LA Diet vary depending on your selection of food and supplements. There is also a registration fee that varies at each franchised center. Most charge a weekly fee of $5-8. Costs can quickly add up because LA Weight-loss branded food is not cheap and neither are supplements. The costs associated with LA Weight-loss diets may initially be worth it though if you need guidance and support to meet your weight-loss goals.
